Several of the region's communities have recently received substantial investments from state and local funding sources in the way of grants for a variety of projects to enhance the economic vitality of their communities. The Summit Prosperity Initiative (SPI), a partnership in Summit County created to enhance economic prosperity has created the Summit Biz Program to provide business training for entrepreneurs looking to start a business and business owners looking to grow their business.  Since September of 2020, five cohorts have been held with 44 graduates from the program.

Golden Eagle has provided 36 units of housing for low-income older adults since 1986. NWCCOG has helped secure a USDA Housing Preservation Grant to fund improvements to this housing development over the years since 2009, resulting in over $180,000 in funds.

Northwest Loan Fund

Offers business loans that will create or retain jobs and bring a value added product or income to the local economy in the 9 Northwest counties (Eagle, Garfield, Grand, Jackson, Moffat, Pitkin, Rio Blanco, Routt & Summit). Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT)

OEDIT provides several financing tools for businesses throughout Colorado including debt and equity financing, cash incentives, grants, and tax credits to support economic development activities that improve and support employment opportunities. LEARN MORE

Colorado Enterprise Fund

A nonprofit lending source specializing in loans up to $250,000 to support small business. CEF funds many small businesses that are not able to receive traditional bank financing. We also provide guidance, training, and resources to help small and emerging businesses succeed. LEARN MORE

Rural Community Assistance Corporation Small Business Loan Program

RCAC’s Small Business Loan Program assists businesses to retain or create jobs and thus improve the economic condition of rural communities. The business must be located in a rural community defined as 50,000 or less population. This program offers short-term loans for working capital and lines of credit as well as long-term loans for real estate and equipment.
